Thank you for your prayers. Feeling much better today. Of course, my wife at home immediately shipped me some antibiotics as well as a few other things and tonight I was much stronger. Continue praying. The church, once again, was with me all night but no movement. I’m not judging my “success” on whether they move or not, it’s just an indicator often times.
God will continue working so you continue praying.
Blessings,
John

March 8th, 2010Quite a day. It began with a Pastor’s breakfast where one of my “friends” spoke then I followed. Fun time!
Tonight there was a good crowd at the service. Still no movement during the invitation but a good night.
Pray for me as I feel I may be coming down with a little something. Could be just fatigue and vocal stress but I’m drinking as much water as I can and trying to rest as much as possible so your prayers would be much appreciated.
Blessings,
John
Gates, TN, Sunday
March 7th, 2010Hi friends,
It was a good start for the revival services. No public response at the invitation but the people were responsive during the worship.
I will speak, in the morning at a Pastor’s Prayer Breakfast the have the service tomorrow night.
Pray for my voice. A little sinus issues (the constant ventriloquism, singing, and preaching) have me coughing a bit and a little week vocally.
Thank you, so much, for checking in. Pray that God will work in the midst of Gates Baptist Church.
Blessings,
John
Gates Arrival
March 5th, 2010Hi friends,
Long travel day but made it safely. Thanks for the prayers. Tonight I’ll get some rest then head to the church tomorrow to move in al the equipment. Pray for Gates Baptist Church as we begin services Sunday morning.
Blessings,
John
Heading Out
March 5th, 2010Well, it was a quick overnight stay at home before heading out once again. I will drive to Gates, TN, just south of Dyersburg and this extra day will give me the freedom AND rest to set up all the equipment tomorrow and ready myself for the first service on Sunday morning. Following the services through Wednesday, I will stay in the area. I start another meeting in Earle, AR, just outside of Memphis the following week.
Pray for Patty. She’s staying in and continuing to heal.
Blessings,
John
Wednesday, Mobile
March 4th, 2010It was a good night albeit a bit chaotic. Upward Basketball is a wonderful program and has the ability to pull in many unchurched or “at risk” kids because of the positive message in Christ.
Last night was no exception but the kids were great. A little wild but, hey, they were getting awards so what would you expect. I’ve not heard the update on decisions with that night but up until then there were 6 professions of faith and 8 other significant (the pastor described) decisions.
The people of Fulton Road Baptist were wonderful and a blessing!
I will head out in the morning for Gates, TN, again, without Patty. She is still struggling so your prayers are appreciated.
Blessings,
John
Mobile, Tuesday
March 2nd, 2010Great night, gang. Many, many decisions as people allowed God to deal with their hearts and responded accordingly. 4 children came to Christ and another came for believers baptism.
Thank you for your prayers. I will finish services here tomorrow night with an Upwards Basketball Awards program. Lots of unchurched. Pray that I will be effective in sharing the gospel and that many may come to Christ.
Blessings,
John
Mobile, Tuesday
March 2nd, 2010Sorry for the delay. I appreciate you checking in. Last night’s weather was unbelievable. The noon time with the pastors of the area went well with a good time of fellowship, lunch and my program. They were gracious.
When I headed to the church yesterday evening I felt if ANYONE showed up for the service there would automatically be more people there than I would have thought. We ended with a nice crowd. A little down but understandable. Still had a nice response during the invitation as people allowed God to speak to them and they listened.
The voice is becoming a bit tired but still doing well. Pray for the strength and I appreciate it.
Blessings,
JOhn
Mobile, Sunday
February 28th, 2010It was a really good start to the revival meeting of the week as we saw many at the altar both in the morning service and the evening service. God led me to speak to the church more so than the lost knowing that if we, as a church, get things in order then we will see the lost come to Christ.
Tomorrow I will be speaking at the Mobile Baptist Assoc. pastor’s conference at lunch and will have the evening service at the church.
My voice feels good so keep those prayers going. I talked with Patty several times today and she is a bit frustrated over the situation of having to stay at home but we pray that as she takes this time off that God will truly heal.
Blessings,
John
Loading Up
February 26th, 2010Packing and loading tonight to pull out tomorrow. Again, Patty is taking a week off and trying to heal from a very aggravating infection. She has gone through a series of blood tests but nothings solved as of yet. The last advice she recieved from the doctor was to get some rest, take a daily vitamin, and let the stuff run it’s course.
At this point, we are thinking she’ll be able to head out on the road for the next meeting in TN.
Pray and I’ll keep you up to date.
John
