Uploading and Retrieving Image Files

This is too easy. Don't be scared. It reads about as long as it takes to do it.This instruction is designed to be printed so you can follow along as you do this.

File\ Print Preview (just to look if you want to)\ Print (choose pages 1-5 to save a sheet)

I have built an easy to use file uploader just for you.

I have made it ridiculously easy. To start, click on the Professor's face on the banner of any page on your site.

The first time you will have to enter your User Name and PW. You know what it is.

After that you should be good to go unless you clear your cookies.

And this screen will appear

rs 12

Click the Browse button and navigate to the folder where you've stored your files as described in the tutorial on Resizing Photos.

Double click on the file of choice.

Unfortunately, you have to do this for each file. This uploader will not do "bulk files." But it's still quicker and easier than email attachments.

Repeat for up to six files.

By the way, it is not limited to photo files.

When you're done adding files, click the submit button.

This screen appears

rs 16

Click the "here" link if you need to upload more files and it will take you back to the uploader form.

Otherwise Return to the Home Page or close the window.

Sometime you will see the message "The file is not writable" above this form. I haven't experienced any problems with it as of yet.But if you want to be sure that your files made it to the file folder on the server…

Click on the horn on the banner

rs 17

Which will take you here:

rs 18

If you want to check a file, click on it and it will open in your browser.

rs 19

You know you're good to go.

Now, wasn't that easy?

You may return to the JYM Home Page now.
